After being told no so many times from banks, we reached out to Branden at Strata and begged for what we felt was a miracle to get into our own house. After looking at everything, he assured us that we would be able to get a mortgage. From initial phone call and just one meeting we found a house and they worked with us to make it happen. Always quick to answer questions and helping us keep on track, we never thought the process could be so easy and seamless. We can not thank Branden and Donna enough for all their hard work, and recommend to everyone looking for a mortgage broker to reach out to Strata because even though we only worked with them for a short time, they made us feel like family and helps us make our dreams come true.

Donna was very pleasant to deal with and always approached each challenge with a positive mindset. Once our offer was accepted, it was a very smooth transition to the lawyers. All the T’s were crossed and the I’s were dotted as Donna is very thorough.
Both Donna and Branden were very easy to communicate with and were very responsive via phone, or email. If you are looking for a mortgage broker that actually cares about your experience and you aren’t just number, I’d highly recommend reaching out to the Strata group.

My partner and I were referred to Strata Mortgages through our life insurance person. We had been looking into buying a home and wanted to get the process started with pre-approval process etc. We were introduced to Donna by Matt (insurance person). Donna started the pre-approval process and started conversations on what our goals were for buying a house and everything that entails with this. We were very early on in our process and therefore were just looking at possibilities and what was affordable for us. Donna was very straight forward when asking us for documentation on certain information that she required. She was able to help us with where to specifically find the information and if she didn't know, who to contact. Once we got through the pre-approval process my partner and I had out of the blue found a home that we had been interested in and had wanted to put in a formal offer to. Donna was quick in answering emails, sometimes even on weekends, and walked us through step-by-step what was needed in order to make this process as smooth as possible. She answered countless email for us for the smallest and what we thought might be really stupid questions. She scheduled countless phone calls to answer quick questions that would be more easily explained over the phone then through email. She was absolutely fantastic. We thought we must have asked her the same questions a million times, but she was always honest and willing to answer any question we had so we were fully informed and comfortable with what was going on. We agreed that the process of buying our first home would not have gone more smoothly and stress free if it hadn't been for Donna's help. We 100% would recommend Donna and Strata Mortgages to anyone who requires a mortgage broker.

Branden was very helpful acquiring a mortgage for our first home. It was a tad stressful as it was our first time and there were so many documents and specific information required, but Branden was able to stay on top of everything and keep us on track! He was quick to answer any questions we had and kept my mind at ease throughout the process.

Before getting my first mortgage, a few people had told me to use a broker. I didn't listen. It just seemed easier to go through my bank since I was familiar with them and assumed they would get me a good rate.
I wish I had listened. After speaking with Branden and his team at Strata Mortgages, I realized how much money I could save by refinancing through them. Branden set me up with a lower rate, cutting my weekly payments almost in half. He even personally delivered the sweetest closing gift. Class act all around.
My advice: Always go through a broker. They have access to rates from several different lenders, not just YOUR bank.
More advice: Reach out to Strata to see what they can do for you. They have streamlined the process to make it easy, even if you are fairly naive to this sort of stuff as I was. Also, you don't even have to leave your home if you don't want to. All of the appointments can be done virtually.

I cannot recommend Brett and Pauline enough! I did my first refinance with Strata mortgages and Brett was incredibly patient and kept me well informed. He was always happy to answer my many many questions and really went above and beyond when it came to securing the best rate. He was so professional and so knowledgeable that I was so comfortable the entire process. Pauline was so great at keeping on top of my file. When we had to change the close date, she was in constant communication with myself and my clerk to ensure there were no delays. Such a great team, Brett and Pauline did not disappoint.
